Nicole Zywicki, CPA, CMA

Comptroller General Assistant Deputy Minister, Ministry of Finance


Nicole Wright was appointed B.C.’s Comptroller General and Assistant Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Finance effective January 15, 2024.

As Comptroller General, she is responsible for government-wide direction and leadership for the province’s financial management and reporting, internal audit and compliance, and financial systems as outlined in the Financial Administration Act.

Nicole entered the BC Public Service in 2014 when she joined the Corporate Services for the Natural Resources Sector as the Director, Revenue for the sector. Prior to being appointed Comptroller General, she occupied progressively senior roles across several ministries, including the Chief Financial Officer & Executive Director with the Ministry of Social Development & Poverty Reduction; Executive Director, Financial Management Branch with the Office of the Comptroller General; and Assistant Deputy Minister & Executive Financial Officer with the Ministry of Finance.

Prior to working in the BC Public Service, Nicole spent 11 years working for BC Ferries in Finance, Operations, and Information Technology.

Nicole is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA) who is passionate about fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture. She has played a key role in building high-performing teams, encouraging employee development, and coaching the next generation of leaders in the BC Public Service. In her spare time, Nicole enjoys reading and hanging out with her dogs (and her family too).
