Deloranda Munro graduated from the University of Alberta in 1971 with an honours BA in English. Following graduation, she spent 10 years in public accounting, where she obtained a chartered accountant designation and provided a variety of audit and consulting services. This was followed by four years as controller for a large conglomerate of construction and property management companies and a brief period of time with the Office of the Comptroller General.
Deloranda has been with Transport Canada since 1987, where she has held a variety of executive positions within finance. She is currently Director General, Financial Operations and Administrative Services and DCFO.
In this role, Deloranda is responsible for ensuring the provision of effective support to the Department in the areas of financial controls and accounting services, financial policy and systems, procurement, accommodations and physical security. She has played a lead role in the evolution of Transport Canada’s financial systems infrastructure.
