Claire Lake is the Director of North America for CIPFA (Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy), responsible for helping champion high performance in public services in North America, through promoting CIPFA’s experience and insight into clear advice and practical service – working with donors, partner governments, accountancy bodies and the public sector to advance public finance and support a better public service.
Claire is a business leader with proven ability in improving operational and financial management within public and industry sectors. She has deep expertise in the design, development, implementation and assessment of internal control frameworks, improving organizational effectiveness and driving major transformation programs. She is a distinctive people-focused leader with strong accounting, financial management and analytic skills.
Claire has more than 20 years of experience in management consulting, financial management and accounting related services; specifically, internal control design, implementing and assessing risk management systems, conducting operational and efficiency reviews, leading business transformation, project management, change management and other advisory activities; within industry and public sector organizations.
Claire uses her management, finance and accounting expertise in conjunction with her in-depth knowledge of project management – from having managed large scale change programs, redesigning operational processes and organizational improvement for large private and government organizations – to help successfully deliver programs and projects. She is recognized for her skills in stakeholder management, communication planning, coaching and facilitation.
